Our Barong Desk is as exotic and dramatic as the traditional Balinese dance after which it was named.  The Barong Desk will fill any home with an ambiance of adventure, yet coordinates perfectly with traditional or contemporary decor.  The hard finished top is broad enough to accommodate the busiest of offices, and although we recommend using a blotter or desk pad to protect against wear long-term, the surface is quite scratch-resistant.  It has one wide and deep centered drawer, perfect for storing pencils, staper, scissors, and other office supplies.  We use it for our own desk at our EarthDeco gallery office.  The Barong Lateral File Cabinet is the exact same height, so it makes a great desk extension or credenza.  Solidly constructed of orchard-grown mango wood, one of the most environmentally-friendly woods, the bold design of the ribbed carving and the rubbed and turned legs and feet is reminiscient of elegant Southeast Asian temple architecture.  It's deep dark chocolate brown tones give it a striking and rich character, and the lustrous clear-coat finish protects the wood and resists moisture and water marks.  This is a quality piece, finished on all sides, even the back.

Barong is the king of spirits in Balinese mythology after whom one of Bali's most famous traditional dances is named.  Barong is the foremost god of the Good and a protector spirit variously represented by the boar, tiger, dragon, or most commonly, the lion.  What better guardian to watch over you in your home office?
