Quiet Thoughts by Nguyen Thanh Binh

Nguyen Thanh Binh is perhaps Vietnam's most widely collected artist, and one of its most prominent. Born
in Hanoi in 1954 and graduating from the Hanoi College of Fine Arts in 1972, he is most recognized for his oils on canvas
of women and girls in white ao dai dresses. Inspired by classical music, his daughter's ballet, and Japanese
poetry, he creates deceptively simple haiku-like canvases using straightforward but perfectly-executed disciplined brush strokes.
Binh says, "Like haiku, paintings can convey immense significance with very few colors and details. The objects may be
condensed and understated, but the meaning is significant." Binh's use of space and balance is always an essential
part of his work. "Fine Art," Binh continues, "is not about philosophy or literature, but about music.
I do not try to follow any trends - I am just searching for beauty as I see it, a beauty for everyone”. His paintings
are poetic and perhaps romantic, and at the same time carefully observed and boldly executed. His limited use of colour is
equally characteristic of his work, featuring white, brown, beige, and grey as his signature tones. Although Thanh Binh
has been influenced by western art and its aesthetics, his art falls well within the philosophical and aesthetic sphere of
Asia. Thanh Binh has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Vietnam, as well as in group exhibitions in
France (1991, Paris), Hong Kong (1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003), Singapore (1996, 2000), Japan (1996), South Korea,
Great Britain (1998, London), USA (1998, 1999, 2001), Australia (1999), and Thailand (2004). It should be noted that
one of Thanh Binh’s paintings was sold at an international auction for a record price of $17,200 in 2005. Please

Myint Swe was born in 1956 in the Rakhine State in the Western part of Burma. He studied at the State School of Fine
Arts in Rangoon from 1975 to 1977 and graduated from Rangoon University in 1981. His way of expression is sometimes realistic,
other times semi-abstract or totally abstract. Myint Swe's paintings at times depict scenes from daily life such as love
and market action, but his main focus is on the changing society in Burma, and in particular the development in Rangoon with
respect to the city and its people. Myint Swe often conveys his views in forms of symbols or in an abstract way so the visitor
may interpret the paintings at various levels. He is the leader of the Vision Art Group and has participated in more than
forty art exhibitions, including in Thailand (1999, 2001, 2002) and Singapore (2001), and his works were recently purchased
by the National Art Gallery, Malaysia and the National Museum of Myanmar (Burma) for their permanent collection. Myint

Sea Nettle Framed Photograph by George
Grail
Title: Sea Nettle (Extra Large Size)
If you've ever seen an aquarium display of sea nettles, or most
any kind of jellyfish, you'll know how they can hypnotize you with their meditative angelic motions. Sea nettles
are a graceful species of jellyfish that feed and protect themselves from predators by releasing thousands of tiny coiled
threads from their tentacles. Each of these threads is filled with toxic venom, and when they spring into another animal,
they can either stun or kill it. While not generally dangerous to people, this sea nettle and its flowing elegance can be
admired without any fear of the unpleasant rash that might otherwise follow such an encounter. Photographer: George

books, including Twig George's Seahorses, David and Christine Petersen's The Atlantic Ocean, and
numerous others.

is by noted South African wildlife photographer, Beverly Joubert. 50% of all profits from the sale of this item will

Asian cultures, elephants are the largest land animals on Earth. With lifespans longer than 70 years, they are also
some of the longest-lived. They have the largest brain of any land animal, and are capable of sophisticated thoughts
and behaviors similar to primates, inlcuding grief, compassion, use of tools, and even the ability to make music and art.
Humans are the only predators of adult elphants. Once numbering in the many millions, African elephant populations have
dwindled to around 500,000 primarily due to hunting and the illegal ivory trade. Photographer: Beverly Joubert
