Myint Swe's (b. 1956, Yangon) paintings at times depict scenes from daily life such as love and market action, but his main focus is on the changing society in Burma, and in particular the development in Rangoon with respect to the city and its people. Myint Swe often conveys his views in forms of symbols or in an abstract way so the visitor may interpret the paintings at various levels. He is the leader of the Vision Art Group and has participated in more than forty art exhibitions.

Known for his brilliantly colored lacquer paintings on wood, especially those of royal ladies, a radical and bold artistic and political statement in Vietnam. His work is in the collections of museums ranging from the Museum of Sydney (Australia), the Singapore Art Museum, and the Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow.
